Mile High Weimaraner Rescue Meet + Greet Dogtopia

When someone tells you a story about a rescue weimie like Echo and asks if you could help photograph him so he can a find a “forever” home….you just don’t say no. (I rarely say no to dog rescue requests anyway!)

Here is Echo’s story:

Echo is a very tall & handsome 8 year old gray male who lived a lonely life of abuse & neglect while tethered outdoors. Luckily, Echo chewed through his tether and escaped. Echo was found starving (tether still attached to his collar) with double ear infections, an infected broken tail, and several open wounds. Poor guy has endured so much; infection after infection for years on end has left him with ears that no longer lay flat (ok – crying right now). Many kind volunteers worked together to give Echo a chance at a new life. Their efforts have paid off and over the past 6 months Echo has matured into a great dog. He now knows several different commands and does well on/off leash.

Echo - his poor little ears cannot lay flat because of the years of ear infections

Potential owners getting a little *love* from Echo!Echo

Mana’s story: Mana had an “owner” who boasted that if animal control did not come pick him up ASAP he’d take Mana’s fate into his own hands. (Seriously?) He was rescued by animal control and they took him to a rural shelter. The shelter contacted MHWR and an amazing volunteer drove during a storm to pick him up and bring him to safety.

Kisses for Mana from his foster dad ~

Mana - BIG puppy eyes - look how his mouth sticks out a little on the (stage right) side ~

Dashing Duke was *full* of energy + love –  he is in rescue because his family divorced and could no longer give Duke everything that a young energetic weim needs.

Emma was a 12 year old weimie who had an owner that decided he wanted to travel and could not longer take care of her

Good news! Emma was adopted later that day! Yippppeeee!

Thank you Mile High Weimaraner Rescue http://www.mhwc.org for letting me be a part of your Meet + Greet at Dogtopia in Highlands Ranch! This is my favorite (and most rewarding) part of my job!
