Giving Back

I whole-heartedly support local animal shelters, foundations and charities that passionately believe in their mission and are actively making a *real* difference in the Colorado (and sometimes US) area. I have either donated my time, images or volunteered at the following shelters, foundations, or charities. It truly has been some of my most rewarding (and tear-jerking) moments in my life.

Bow Wow Buddies Foundation is a non-profit organization dedicated to improving the lives and health of dogs everywhere, through supporting foster and re-homing programs, spay and neuter efforts, disaster assistance, canine cancer research, animal welfare education and shelter improvements. They put on the fabulous Project Ruff-way in April  and also the “K-9’s Against Cancer” 5K & 1 Mile Fun Run in September. I donate my services to photograph the 2009 & 2010 Cover Dog Contest Winner. I also wrote the Survivors Book with Colorado State University and the Bow Wow Buddies Foundation to showcase seven dogs that have survived cancer and are living to “Woof About It”.

Mile High Weimaraner Rescue is an organization operated soley by volunteers dedicated to the welfare of the Weimaraner breed. MHWR is a rescue group who operates on donations and the support of the Weimaraner Foundation Fund – Rescue Committee, which is part of the Weimaraner Club of America. I love taking pictures of these beautiful dogs at their frequent “Meet + Greets” around the Denver area.

Cat Care Society is a nonprofit organization and was established in order to improve the quality of life for homeless, injured and abused cats in the Denver metropolitan area. A wonderful group of individuals that would do anything to help homeless kitties in Denver. Their annual fundraiser is in September. I donated my services to photograph their 2010 and 2011 calendar cover.

Denver Dumb Friends League is a national leader in providing humane care to lost and abandoned animals, rescuing sick, injured and abused animals, adopting pets to new homes, helping pets stay in homes, and educating pet owners and the public about the needs of companion animals. I have volunteered at their Quebec location as a volunteer photographer and their staff epitomizes the word PASSION for animals. I donated my services to photograph their 2011 calendar cover.

If you are thinking about donating your time or efforts, then please consider these shelters, foundations, or charities. They are “Woof + Meow” Approved!
