I had the honor of photographing the talented and beautiful Kyla Duffy this spring in Boulder with Bill, her Boston Terrier rescue. He is just the cutiest stinkin’  Boston! He didn’t care too much for his studio session but he blossomed into the “true Bill” on his mountain hike.

Please see the article about Kyla and her efforts to help rescue dogs. Kyla has put forth consistent support for rescue dogs and has used her talents to help dogs in many different ways. We (and rescue dogs) are fortunate to have someone as wonderful as Kyla on this planet.

Of course, I jumped for joy (with Mr. Cha Cha) and I got working on it right away. She asked some thought-provoking questions that made me pause and recount some of my past decisions. I have been talking a lot about “Do What You Are PASSIONATE About” because I encounter so many people that go along with their day-to-day jobs hoping for “someday”.

I feel very fortunate (and sometimes a little crazy) for taking this leap into the unknown (the world of “pet photographer”) three years ago and to be  able to give back to the community through local charities and canine cancer events. I truly believe that I found what I was suppose to do on this planet.

I hope that “someday” happens earlier than expected for you. You will not regret it.

Cassidy, the winner of the 2010 Cover Dog Contest (presented by the Bow Wow Buddies Foundation and Mile High Dog Magazine) graces the cover of Mile High Dog Magazine this month! Cassidy was a joy to work with and a pleasure to take into a Christmas store with THOUSANDS of breakable ornaments. Not one ornament was “injured” in the making of this picture!

You can pick up your copy of Mile High Dog Magazine at your local dog groomer, vet or doggie daycare in the Greater Denver area. Kiss your furry family member for the holidays (unless you don’t like dog/cat  hair in your mouth). In that case, a good furry hug would be perfect!
