Monthly Archives: May 2010 Do you ever feel that you were in the presence of greatness? I felt that way the first moment I met Sage. Sage is an honored K-9 for the United States of America. She worked Ground Zero during 9/11 (one of the youngest dogs there), in the aftermath of Katrina, Afghanistan, and in the swamps... She has worked in New York at Ground Zero, in the aftermath of Katrina and in the swamps of Iraq. She is an honorable K-9 that has served our country well. I was asked the question, “What inspires you?” by a lady at the Bow Wow Botanic Gardens Event yesterday. My brain took a screeching halt (most people ask my price, where I shoot, how many dogs can they bring, etc). Wow! This person really cares about the “art” behind my photos. In my elation with her question...  Tolpel is a Survivor. A survivor of canine cancer. This is the beginning of sneak peeks for the book I am writing/photographing: “Survivors Book – Your Best Friend’s Journey with Cancer”.
